Help educate voters about Free Staters and the Liberty Alliance
Katy Cutshall, HCDC Chair has asked for our help:
Granite State Matters (GSM), run by Jeanne Dietsch, sent out a huge number (over 100,000) of postcards around the state informing folks about the Free State Project several years ago. This is another round targeting: 13,000 households with undeclared voters in New Boston, Lyndeborough, Mont Vernon, Milford, Bedford, and Merrimack. Including 477 Mont Vernon addresses, 322 in Lyndeborough, and 933 in New Boston.
Timeline:
Distribute postcards to town captains by Friday, October 17th
Volunteers have 2 wks to write postcards & (we hope) add postage
Postcard Captain (Cindy for MV) collects by October 31st
Captain mails postcards by November 5th
We need MV Volunteers:
~16 Volunteers to write postcards (short hand-written message, the majority is printed)
~16 Volunteers to donate postage (Postcard packets are in multiples of 30 so postage at 61 cents for a postcard stamp is $18.30 per set of 30. )
This could be 16 Super-volunteers willing to do both! :)

Are You a Notary? Connect With Open Democracy!
SB 287 is now in effect and will make absentee voting more complicated in NH by requiring voters requesting absentee ballots to show proof of identity through a copy of their ID, a notarized signature, or an in-person visit to the town or city clerk. Many seniors, people with disabilities, rural residents, and low-income voters face barriers to meeting these requirements.
You can make a difference.
Interested in becoming a Notary? Get all the details here.
By volunteering with Open Democracy as a notary, they can contact you when a voter in your community needs help completing their absentee ballot application.
For more information about SB 287 read this one-page summary.

Government Shutdown!
President Trump and Republicans in Congress shut down the government, pushing a partisan spending bill that will increase Americans' health care costs.
Action: Sign this petition to tell Republican leaders in Congress to reopen the government by passing a funding bill that reverses health care cuts, keeps hospitals open, lowers costs, and saves health care.
