Veto Day 2026
Each year, the NH House meets to consider whether to override the Governor’s veto of key bills.
To override a veto, two-thirds of the members present at the session must vote to do so.
This session has not been held in August for more than 20 years, and legislators are actively encouraged to avoid the State House during July and August. Democrats were not notified that this year’s session had been scheduled for August 19 until August 3.

Comments from Rep. Lucy Weber via Kent Street Coalition,
Insights from Rep David Meuse on Facebook.
While we could certainly reach out to our representatives and urge them to vote against overriding vetoes we worked hard to encourage the Governor to make, it’s hard to imagine that approach being successful given our specific representatives.
In this case, doing nothing may actually make more sense.
We still have some time before the August 19 session, so rather than acting immediately, let’s wait a few days and see whether any action appears likely to be helpful.

OK, not technically a PROTEST, but what a fun way to support local Dems?!

Hillsborough County Dems Picnic
Save the Date 9/27 - 11AM to 3PM
The annual picnic is one of HCDC’s biggest fundraisers of the year. Last year we added a craft sale that was so popular that the bake sale team asked that it be promoted to its own booth!
Get Crafting!!!
MVDC has agreed to spearhead the craft sale this year.
We need booth support on the day of the picnic. Two teams of 2 to man the booth, one from 11-1 and one from 1-3.
And we need crafters ahead of the event. Perfect items are things you always need, things you didn’t know you needed until you saw them and small gift items.
If we know what we will have ahead of time, we can promote items/categories so potential shoppers can plan ahead. Shoppers will be able to pay through a QR code so cash isn’t an issue.
