More Good News from last week

Great News - Bobbi Boudman wins NH House seat in District 07!

From Kent Street Coalition - The Granite State made national news with Bobbi Boudman’s surprise win of a House seat in consistently Republican Carroll County District 07 (Wolfeboro, Tuftonboro, Ossipee). The election of a Democratic candidate in a heavily gerrymandered, reliably red district stunned state and national pundits.

Additional NH Actions You Can Take

From Kent Street - We have important news about an unethical and underhanded abuse of power last week: Republicans in the House played games with the floor calendar and closed one session early last week to make sure that no Democratic bills receive a hearing this session — effectively killing almost every bill put forward by a House Democrat in 2026.

House Minority Leader Alexis Simpson reports: “Republicans’ first act this morning was to block debate on all 180 bills scheduled for today,” Simpson said. “Republicans know the public overwhelmingly opposes their extreme agenda, as yesterday’s special election result in Carroll County made clear with Bobbi Boudman’s decisive win. Rather than change course, they are taking increasingly extreme steps to ram their agenda through with as little scrutiny, public debate, and sunlight as possible.”

House Representative Heath Howard boils it down here.

ACTION: Write our House Reps and tell them that you oppose the extremist agenda being pushed through without transparency and public debate.

SUBJECT LINE: Constituent OPPOSES the extremist agenda being pushed through without transparency and public debate

Dear Rep Michael Ammon, Rep Gerald Griffin, Rep Lisa C.M. Post

I am one of your constituents, and I’ll be considering your voting record next election. I am a registered voter in your district, living in Mont Vernon. I’m writing to express my dismay with the way the House Majority party has managed the calendar, effectively denying ~180 Bills from even being debated. Public debate is one of the cornerstones of representative democracy. Each Bill deserves a public hearing, and your constituents deserve transparency. We will remember in November.

Sincerely,

Your name

From Kent Street - Urgent Call to Action: Stand Against Political Threats

We urgently ask you to take action by contacting the NH Attorney General’s office, requesting a full investigation into apparent death threats made by Libertarian Party NH newly-elected Chair Jeremy Kauffman on that party’s X account and any reposting of those threats. We also ask you to call on the AG to take appropriate action based on his office’s investigation.

Two of the individuals targeted by Kauffman’s posts, Christian Urrutia and Rep. Heath Howard, are currently candidates for federal office, and a third, Andru Volinsky, is a former gubernatorial candidate and NH Executive Councilor. Kauffman made a fourth threat targeting Colin Booth, a NH journalist with Courier News and the Granite Post.

Threats of political violence have no place in our democracy and cannot be tolerated as a means of political expression.

Under New Hampshire law, the Attorney General, John Formella, is responsible for supervising and conducting criminal investigations and prosecutions. We are concerned these threats may constitute criminal threatening, and we are calling on the Attorney General to take swift and decisive action.

Take Action:

Please contact Attorney General Formella and politely ask him (in your own words) to:

undertake a full investigation into apparent death threats made on X by Jeremy Kauffman and subsequently reposted by others targeting former Executive Councilor Andru Volinsky, Christian Urrutia, Rep. Heath Howard, and journalist Colin Booth. The Libertarian Party of NH alone has over 103,000 followers on X.

FWIW - Here’s what I sent:

TO: ATTORNEYGENERAL@doj.nh.gov

Subject: Investigation into Apparent Death Threats

Dear Attorney General Formella:

I'm writing to respectfully request that you undertake a full investigation into the recent death threats made on X by Libertarian Party NH Chair Jeremy Kauffman.

Two of the individuals targeted by these posts, Christian Urrutia and Rep. Heath Howard, are currently candidates for federal office, and a third, Andru Volinsky, is a former NH gubernatorial candidate and NH Executive Councilor. Kauffman also made a fourth threat targeting Colin Booth, a NH journalist with Courier News and the Granite Post. The Libertarian Party of NH has over 103,000 followers on X, and the threats have since been amplified by others.

I'm concerned that these threats constitute criminal threatening. Since you are responsible for supervising and conducting criminal investigations and prosecutions, I'm asking you to take swift and decisive action.

Sincerely,

Cindy Raspiller
