Speak Out by Tonight Against ICE!

From our friends at:

Our hearts are broken and our minds outraged with the death of a second Minneapolis resident, Alex Pretti, this weekend at the hands of federal immigration agents. His murder, along with that of Renee Good earlier this month, and many other victims of the appalling overreach by ICE and the Trump administration, deserve our individual and collective focus. CNN's Stephen Collinson writes that the surge of federal forces to Minneapolis is testing long-held understandings of constitutional rights

Use your voice this week to counter ICE!

Contact Senators Shaheen and Hassan!
On Friday, the US Senate is set to vote on a Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill. Call Senators Shaheen and Hassan and demand they:

  • Vote NO on the DHS funding bill!

  • Repeal the multi-year $75 Billion in ICE Funding

  • Provide No Immunity for ICE agents. We need investigations and, where appropriate, prosecution.

Senator Hassan

  • DC: (202) 224-3324

  • Manchester: (603) 622-2204

Senator Shaheen

  • DC: (202) 224-2841

  • Manchester (603) 647-7500

  • Dover: (603) 750-3004

Take Action Today on 3 Immigration Related Bills
Below are steps to voice your opinion on 3 important bills related to immigration and ICE activity in New Hampshire. Action on one bill is needed by tonight!  TUESDAY - SUPPORT SB623, Wednesday - SUPPORT HB1142, Friday SUPPORT HB1364

Support for Maine Families Impacted by ICE

'We're being terrorized.'

What Mainers are seeing as ICE launches operation in the state - PBS 1/23/26

While MN is getting a lot more press, there is ICE activity much closer to home. Although NH isn't immune, things are worse in neighboring Maine. Portland and Lewiston are both reporting that legal immigrants are afraid to leave their homes. Many of those who have been detained are here legally. There are many groups providing support to those sheltering in place.

"ICE agents arrived in Maine this week, and one took pictures of a legal observer’s car, prompting her to remind him that it is legal to record their actions and to ask why he was taking her information. He answered: “‘Cause we have a nice little database and now you’re considered a domestic terrorist.”  From Heather Cox Richardson’s 1/24/2026 Newsletter

If you're able to help, Portland volunteers suggest donating to these 3 organizations that are providing food and other necessities for these families. Note that your donation is intended to support immigrant families or others at risk due to the ICE operation.

We are collecting signatures to get two petition warrant articles added to this year’s Mont Vernon Town Warrant

What are the warrants?

Protecting the Taxpayer

New Hampshire thrives when state funding fairly supports local communities.

This warrant article supports requiring the New Hampshire Legislature to protect local taxpayers by adequately funding essential services and preventing policies that shift costs onto local property taxpayers.

Taxpayer-Protected Education Funding

New Hampshire communities value strong public schools and responsible use of public funds for education.

This article strengthens accountability by ensuring education dollars are used effectively and by protecting local property taxpayers from rising costs.

Additional NH Actions You Can Take

From our friends at:

Ask House Speaker Packard to take immediate disciplinary action against Rep. Kirstin Nobel and Rep. Matt Sabourin dit Choinière.
Unfortunately, it has become all too common of late to witness GOP legislators making comments or engaging in behavior that call into question whether they are committed to representing the best interests of all Granite Staters. Last week, however, we saw two examples where GOP legislators made it quite explicit that they represent some and not all. Worse yet, we saw that their decisions on who to represent were grounded in world views that are both divisive and hateful.

CONTACT House Speaker Sherman Packard  - Email: sherman.packard@gc.nh.gov  - Phone: 603.271.3661

Ask for the Speaker to take immediate disciplinary action against Rep. Kirstin Noble and Rep. Matt Sabourin dit Choinière. Both have violated accepted norms and standards of conduct and deserve to be sanctioned.

  • Rep. Noble, has made it clear that she favors “segregated schools” and views her allegiance to some, but not all of NH’s school-aged children. She is unfit to chair the House Education Policy and Administration committee and must be removed from that position.

  • Rep. Matt Sabourin dit Choinière, has promoted antisemetic and Holocaust-revisionist theories, and must be removed from his committee assignments.

Sample wording for a message or email:
"This message is for Sherman Packard. My name is ___, calling from ___. I’m urging you to remove Rep. Kristin Noble from her leadership of the House Education Policy and Administration Committee. Recent reported remarks involving segregationist rhetoric are unacceptable for education leadership and have seriously damaged public trust. This is about conduct and leadership standards, not party. Further, I’m asking that Rep. Matt Sabourin dit Choinière, who has promoted antisemitic and Holocaust-revisionist theories, be removed from his committee assignments. New Hampshire students and families deserve better."

Statements about Kristin Noble from NH House Minority Leader Rep.Alexis SimpsonEngage NHRep. Wendy Thomas

Seabrook representative Matt Sabourin dit Choinière appeared at a hearing on HB 1162, a straightforward bill seeking a 3-year extension of the Commission of Holocaust and genocide studies, presenting an amendment seeking to add a thirteenth member to the Commission from the Committee for the Open Debate on Holocaust - an avowedly Holocaust “revisionist” organization. In addition to his own testimony, the committee heard from three additional witnesses, all of whom had traveled from Michigan and seemed to have been invited by Rep Sabourin dit  Choinière. These witnesses, including David Skrbina, well known to the Southern Poverty Law Center Hatewatch program, spouted the worst kind of antisemetic, Holocaust-denying “testimony.  You can view the hearing here
