We are collecting signatures to get two petition warrant articles added to this year’s Mont Vernon Town Warrant
What are the warrants?
Protecting the Taxpayer
New Hampshire thrives when state funding fairly supports local communities.
This warrant article supports requiring the New Hampshire Legislature to protect local taxpayers by adequately funding essential services and preventing policies that shift costs onto local property taxpayers.
Taxpayer-Protected Education Funding
New Hampshire communities value strong public schools and responsible use of public funds for education.
This article strengthens accountability by ensuring education dollars are used effectively and by protecting local property taxpayers from rising costs.

WHY PETITION WARRANT ARTICLES MATTER
Citizen Petition Warrant Articles allow voters to place non-binding policy questions directly on the ballot. While they do not create law, they do something as powerful: they show legislators what their constituents want.
In many ways, these votes are the most reliable polling of New Hampshire voters. When the same issue appears on ballots across dozens of towns—and wins strong citizen support—it sends an unmistakable message to Concord.
Coordinated local action by extreme far-right groups has already shaped state decisions on education funding, property taxes, local partisan races, election (re)districting, and local control. We want to ensure that the voices of mainstream voters are heard as clearly – and just as powerfully.
