Additional NH Actions You Can Take
Key Actions this Week
From our friends at:
Thank Secretary Scanlan for standing up for NH voters
President Trump’s latest executive order attempts to influence how states run their elections, including efforts to create a federal voter list and significantly alter mail-in voting processes.
Secretary of State David Scanlan made it clear: New Hampshire—not the federal government—has the constitutional authority to run its own elections, and our state will not be compelled to hand over sensitive voter data or change its election processes.
At a time when national rhetoric is pushing to undermine accessible voting methods like mail-in ballots that so many Granite Staters rely on to make their voices heard, it matters to see leadership here at home affirm that our elections are secure and run by dedicated local officials.

Tell the Senate Election Law Committee: PASS HB 1601
On Tuesday (3/31), the Senate Election Law Committee held a public hearing on HB1601, which would require the Secretary of State to create a voter education program that includes information on recent changes to voting laws.
Voting laws in New Hampshire have changed a lot over the past few years, and the confusion has real consequences. Many NH voters were turned away from the polls last November.
The Secretary of State currently educates voters across New Hampshire, and HB 1601 would build on those efforts by allocating $50,000 in existing Help America Vote Act (HAVA) funds to expand voter education.
Use THIS LINK to send an email to the Committee urging that they PASS HB 1601.
Tell the Senate Election Law Committee: KILL / AMEND HB 1062
Tuesday's public hearing in Senate Election Law continued with HB1062, which would authorize the Secretary of State to conduct random audits of the citizenship qualifications of registered voters.
Speakers raised serious concerns about the bill’s use of private databases and the potential risks to voter privacy, including the possibility of mistaken voter roll removals.
Senator Perkins Kwoka introduced an amendment to address these privacy issues and mandate a public report on the audit's methodology and findings. It also includes a sunset on the bill in 2029.
Use THIS LINK to send an email to the Committee urging them to either AMEND or ITL HB1062.
From Kent Street -
Call, Write, or Email Governor Ayotte to Veto the Discriminatory Bathroom and Locker Room Bans
6 nearly identical bills are making their way through the NH House and Senate. Governor Kelly Ayotte has vetoed similar legislation. Let’s ask her to do it again if these bills arrive on her desk.
These bills seek to legalize discrimination for bathrooms, locker rooms, sports, and prisons based on "biological sex" defined only as "male" and "female,” completely erasing the scientific reality of intersex individuals.
These discriminatory policies have no place in NH and create real-world privacy and safety concerns for all Granite Staters.
We need to stop HB1442, HB 1447, HB1299, HB1217, SB552 and SB459
Use THIS LINK to send an email to the Committee urging them to either AMEND or ITL HB1062.

Additional Federal Actions You Can Take
DEADLINE TUESDAY APRIL 7th
Simple action to prevent the BLM from destroying a Native American cultural site.
From our friends at:
Click the “Send Comments” button below. Then click the blue “Participate Now” button at the top.
Add a message to the comments block that conveys this message:
“I support Public Land Order 7923 and urge the BLM to select the No Action Alternative, keeping the 10-mile mineral withdrawal around Chaco Culture National Historical Park fully intact. This sacred landscape holds irreplaceable cultural and archaeological significance.
The proposed rollback is being rushed through with only 7 days of public comment compared to the 150 days used to create these protections. That is not a legitimate public process. Do not open this land to oil and gas development.”
Fill out your contact information and hit submit.
It appears that the BLM website is very busy. Give it a moment to load, and keep clicking “Participate Now,” and it should go through eventually. 😎
Tell Congress: NO more funding for ICE and Border Patrol violence
From our friends at:
Everyone deserves to live free from harm. But ICE and Border Patrol are making our communities less safe—assaulting people in the streets, tearing families apart, and creating fear.
The murders of Alex Pretti, Renee Good, Keith Porter Jr., and Geraldo Lunas Campos are among the most recent examples of the deadly violence inherent in ICE and Border Patrol. This moment demands urgent action. But right now, our members of Congress are considering sending even more money to both agencies.
Tell Congress to stop funding violence. NO more money for ICE and Border Patrol!
Stop the War with Iran: Petition to Congress
From our friends at:
On Feb. 28, the United States and Israel launched major military attacks on Iran. This is immoral and blatantly illegal. No president has the authority to use military force against another nation without Congressional approval. War will never lead to peace—it will cost thousands of lives, further destabilize the Middle East, and make all of us less safe.
Tell Congress to Stop Attacks on Planned Parenthood
From our friends at:
Millions rely on Planned Parenthood health centers for birth control, cancer screenings, STI testing, and essential care. Congressional threats to Medicaid funding put these services at risk. Stand with patients now.
Contact our Senators
With the Senate in recess until next week, the “Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act” (aka the SAVE Act) won’t come up in the US Senate until at least April 13th.
Our NH Senators Shaheen and Hassan are standing strong in opposition. This is a perfect time to thank them.
Call our Senators and thank them. Urge them to continue to stand strong and lead with determination.
You will often get voicemail or a staffer who is there to record your opinions.
Senator Shaheen (202) 224-2841
Senator Hassan (202) 224-3324
Say something like:
Hi, my name is _____ and I’m a resident of _________. I’m calling to thank the Senator for her strong stance opposing the SAVE Act and urging her to remain strong. Thank you for your time and consideration.
